Sue lives on the beautiful Somerset Levels with her family and dogs – Labradors and a Working Cocker Spaniel.
Her earliest memory is of being a toddler and being surrounded by a litter of Labrador puppies, bred by her parents. Her passion for dogs was ignited and has remained with her ever since.
She has owned dogs for many years, both rescued and bought as puppies of assorted breeds, and challenges.
Training approach
Sue’s classes are fun for both the dog and the owner. The training is not prescriptive but has an emphasises on your dog learning to learn and giving you the tools to train your dog.
She takes particular pleasure in watching dogs and their owners progress their relationship, developing a bond, building their confidence and learning using positive, force free, science-based training methods.
Gundog experience
Sue has worked dogs picking up on shoots for many years, and she competes occasionally in working tests.
Particular breed knowledge
Sue trains and works her own Labradors, she has extensive experience of sight hounds from previous experience working for a specialist rescue centre. She is happy to work with any breed of dog.
Services offered
Sue is an instructor for the foundation grades, and is ideally placed to help the owners of pet gundogs. She offers one to one home visits, and training in very small groups in a secure training paddock.
Qualifications and other accreditations
Sue is a member of the Pet Professional Guild.
Sue regularly updates her knowledge and experience by attending seminars and workshops.
Sue has completed several Sarah Whitehead courses and is a Clever Dog Licensed Method Trainer.
And holds a Certificate in Companion Animal Nutrition (QCF Level 3) awarded by COAPE.
