The Gundog Club Field Tests are assessments of gundogs and their owners which take place at each of the six stages in training.

Different categories

There are separate tests for each category of gundog (retriever, spaniel and HPR). Candidates are assessed by a  Gundog Club Intructor that has not been involved in coaching them.

Non-competitive

Each test compares the dog with the standard set for dogs at that level.  There is no competition with other dogs.

If you and your dog meet the standard on the day, you will pass the test. There are three levels of pass:  Pass, Merit, and Distinction.
