Most students take Field Tests organised in a group with other students at the end of a course. But if you are training alone, or in 121s with an instructor, then you may wish to arrange a Field Test just for you and your dog.
Who Will Assess My Dog?
Any instructor may assess you for a Field Test, providing that instructor has not trained you or your dog in the last year.
So to book a Field Test you first need to find an instructor to act as an assessor in an area that suits you in terms of travel.
Contact An Instructor
Please remember that it won’t always be convenient for every instructor to hold just one assessment for one student, so you may have to be prepared to try a couple of instructors before you find one to act as an assessor.
Also, for the higher grades, not all instructors have water available or suitable ground.
All our instructors are listed on this website
You can use the contact forms found on each instructor’s page to ask about assessments.
Confirm And Pay
Once you have a confirmed date for your test email admin@thegundogclub.co.uk and let us know.
You will then have to pay for your test, and you can do so using PayPal, debit or credit cards.
Please note that there is a cancellation fee of 50% and this applies regardless of the reason you cancel, including the weather, bitches coming into season or you or your dog being ill.
Allow Plenty Of Time
You must allow enough time for us to send out scoresheets, certificates and rosettes etc. to the assessor. While we will always try to get these out at short notice, it’s best to tell us at least a couple of weeks before your test – sometimes things do go missing in the post, and we like to have plenty of time to resend material to the assessor if this happens.
